RENEWAL OF THE APPOINTMENT OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

THE ASSEMBLY,

 

TAKING NOTE that the Council, at its ninety-seventh session (6 to 10 November 2006), having expressed its appreciation for the services of the Secretary-General to the Organization, decided to renew the mandate of Mr. Efthimios E. Mitropoulos as Secretary-General of the Organization for another four-year term,

 

APPROVES, in accordance with Article 22 of the IMO Convention, the renewal of Mr. Efthimios E. Mitropoulos’ appointment as Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization for a final term of four years, for the period 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2011.
